How this site uses cookies and handles your data.
Overview
calumdear.dev is a static website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It uses only strictly-necessary cookies set by Cloudflare to keep the site secure and working correctly. It does not use any analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, and it does not track you across other websites.
Because only essential cookies are used, there is no consent to give or withhold — these cookies are required for the site to function and cannot be switched off from here. You can still control them through your browser, as described under Managing cookies.
Essential cookies
Depending on which protections are active for a given request, Cloudflare may set one or more of the following first-party, strictly-necessary cookies on this domain. They are set by Cloudflare on the site's behalf for security, bot mitigation, and performance — they carry no advertising or cross-site tracking data.

What this site does not use
- No analytics cookies (no Google Analytics or similar).
- No advertising, marketing, or re-targeting cookies or pixels.
- No third-party tracking or social-media tracking cookies.
- No accounts, sign-in, or forms that collect your personal data.
The small notice shown on your first visit is remembered using your browser's
local storage (a cookieNoticeDismissed flag) — not a cookie. Clearing this
site's data in your browser resets it.
Privacy
This is a personal portfolio site. It does not ask you to create an account, fill in forms, or submit any personal information.
As with any website, the hosting and security layer keeps standard server access logs. Cloudflare, as the hosting and CDN provider, processes technical request data — such as your IP address, browser user-agent, the page requested, and a timestamp — to deliver the site, prevent abuse, and keep it reliable and secure. This processing is governed by Cloudflare's privacy policy.
The tailored CVs published under /cv/ are produced by a pipeline that sends job
descriptions I provide to Anthropic's
API. That processing uses my own inputs to generate the documents — it does not collect or process data
about visitors to this site.
The site links out to third-party services (for example GitHub, LinkedIn, ORCiD, Google Scholar, and my recipe site). Once you follow those links, those sites' own privacy policies apply.
Managing cookies
You can view, block, or delete cookies at any time through your browser settings. Most browsers also offer a private or incognito mode that limits how long cookies are kept.
Because the cookies listed above are strictly necessary for security and the correct operation of Cloudflare's protection, blocking them may cause parts of the site to load incorrectly or trigger additional security checks.
